DirecTV went on aggressive high-definition expansion last year from September 19, 2007 and almost ended the year with 90 high-definition channels without any competition from other Satellite television provider like Dish Network or from other Cable companies. During September of the same year the satcaster started delivering local high-definition programming with local HD in Honolulu on October 31, 2007.
