As announced earlier, ESPNews has launched its high-definition channel today at 8.00 AM ET with the networks first hour simulcast on ESPN HD and later on ESPN 2 HD and ESPN. Comcast, DirecTV and Time Warner Cable have signed carriage agreement with the channel to carry the new HD channel, but not to carry during the launch.

It’s exciting news for television subscribers as the satellite providers like DirecTV, Dish Network and Cable providers like Comcast, Cablevision and Verizon are adding new local and national high-definition channels. According to Dallas News, Time Warner Cable also has added new 11 high-definition channels in Dallas, Mesquite, Plano and Richardson areas
